Parker Van Dutch
“Dutch”
German Shepherd Dog |------| Male |------| 24 |------| Mechanic/Handyman
|------| PHYSICAL |------|
Height: 6' 1"
Weight: 163 lbs
Description:
Dutch has always been a bit on the tall side since hitting adolescence, though since his late teens has developed a fairly muscular upper body structure, especially in his arms and shoulders. The lower half of his body is a lot leaner in muscle, as he is partially paralyzed in both legs. However, he does a decent job of keeping up with physical therapy, as well as walking as often as he can by use of crutches as oppose to using a chair. His left ear is somewhat floppy at the tip and he has digitigrade legs.
Unlike most GSD’s, his fur is somewhat on the lengthy side, particularly around his arms, legs, and neck. His dark hair, bangs edged in pale tones, often hangs in his face, which is why he tends to wear a headband instead of cutting it. The base of his body color is a deep gray-ish tan, embellished with various dark stripes running down his arms and legs. More stripes are found on his back, forming a vague wing-like pattern, and his saber-like tail has v-like patterns along it before being tipped in white. His face is masked in black, a white smudge near his nose, and his ears are rimmed in an equally dark tone. The same shade colors his fingers and toes, and white splashes can be seen on his chest, ribs and lower stomach. His eyes are lively and expressive with a slate gray coloration.
Interesting Traits:
Various scars from being hit by a car, particularly one prominent one along his spine where he had back surgery after the accident, and on his chest that he doesn’t discuss much.
Clothing:
Dutch is very laid back when it comes to his clothing style. Loose t-shirts with graphic designs and/or obscure phrases on the front and button ups, usually wearing longer shirts with the sleeves rolled up. Jeans are his usual attire, but will also where track pants and long shorts from time to time.
Accessories:
Since he doesn’t like to cut his hair often, it tends to hang in his face, so he wears a headband. Usually these are torn bits of cloth or bandanas that tend to get smudged with grease and dirt from whatever he happens to be working on at the time.
In his left ear he wears two small, gold rings, he also has a small string of beads in his hair and sometimes seen with a feather tucked in his hair. He wears a necklace; the pendant is a hand-carved wooden cross that belonged to his sister.
Physical Abnormalities:
Partially Paralyzed from the waist down. He suffered major trauma to his back in an incident where he was struck by a car. He underwent surgery on his spine but only part of his mobility was able to be saved. He now moves around primarily by using crutches, as his legs can still bare some weight for varied lengths of time, which has increased since the accident. He doesn’t like to use his wheelchair, but mostly uses it at home or work and on the occasions when he goes out to play basketball. He also sustained injuries to his heart that complicated in the aftermath of the accident and received his sister's heart as a transplant (she died in the same accident), which is why there is surgical scarring on his chest aswell.

Description:
Not much about life bothers Dutch, at least in the present, though finds it to be a downer when people concern themselves over his crutches. He’s thankful that his accident didn’t do worse than it did to him, though still holds some guilt and anger over what else happened that night and why it happened. He doesn’t talk about his family much, mainly considering those around him in his life his family more than who he grew up with. He still holds his sister close to his heart, literally.
He’s found all the closeness he needs in his best friend, Remi, and uses him as both a roommate and a confident. Still, he’s a very open individual and finds himself getting along with most people, perhaps because there is a fairly unimposing manner about him. While there are a few questions that may make him pause, he will usually answer them when asked. While guarded about his past, he’s never secretive, and always honest.
Finding physical therapy boring from day 1, he prefers to find his own methods of physical activity, like basketball or swimming. He usually gets restless if he doesn’t have something to do, so often is willing to indulge in Remi’s exuberant tastes in activities, and doesn’t fear much - except sea gulls.

Fear of seagulls he’s had since he was swarmed by a flock of them that were after his corn dog on a family vacation. He hides it well.

Mental Abnormalities:
He can sleep like two hours a night and be fresh and perky in the morning. His roommate doesn’t understand this possibility, but blames it on coffee.|------| HISTORICAL |------|
