Huh... After looking over some new profiles that's been sprouting lately, I can't help but to want to clarify it up a little. When one specie of a creature falls in love and "gets it on" with a totally different specie, then one of them ends up pregnant [should've used the condom]. Will their baby always be a hybrid or is that totally up to the creator?
Using a random example: let's say that a leopard mates with a iguana, will their baby be an iguana x leopard mix? [...best...lizard...ever!] Or do the creator have an option to say "lol no their bootiful bby is a full leoparrrd :B :B"
I'M JUST CURIOUS. :D"

[should've used the condom] I laughed harder than I should have. On a serious note, assuming the lizard and iguana furs had humanoid reproductive bits it only makes sense their offspring would be a hybrid. And Wampuses already have dibs on being epic lizardcats. But I guess it's up to Kay and Avy.

I would think the offspring would be a hybrid, given that hybrids are optional characters, but I think Tiger/Cat or Dog/Wolf isn't technically a hybrid, so it would have to cross genus lines to be a 'hybrid mix' which might have a higher mortality rate both in and out of womb.

Squeeji assumes right. I mean, we don't want to get absolutely crazy nazi's about this. If, for some plot related reason, the creator wants the offspring to be (more less) the same species as one of their parents, we can deal with that. Genetics are a fickle thing so there's no reason to assume that a lion x panda cross won't look, for all the world, like a regular lion. However, genetically, they will still technically be a "hybrid". Generally, crosses between significantly different species will in fact be a mash-up of traits from the parents, just as people are in real life.
To prevent really crazy hybrids from happening, though, we believe that in this world, hybrids are only possible between two species. So if a "leopard x lizard" cross mates with a "tiger x dragon", the offspring will be some combination of two of the four species involved. Ie- a tiger x lizard or a tiger x leopard or something. Which is also up to the creator. If this becomes too confusing or is abused in any way, Kaylink and I may add a rule requiring all major hybrids to be sterile and therefore incapable of offspring. But for now, we're remaining lenient.
